" Plenty fine for the old 3-shots, 3-seconds, 3-feet story about the supposed average American confrontation involving a firearm. If you use factory round nose ammo in it, it will function each and very time. I have had a few FTF and FTE issues with my cast-bullet reloads, but thats the ammunitions fault, not the pistol. It is nice ergonomically, easy to clean, and the sights are very good. In addition, its a joy to carry inside he waistband because its so thin. "

" First off, let me say the this was my first online purchase and was a little unsure of the whole FFL process. Kentucky Gun Company was outstanding to deal with and quickly erased any and all apprehension I felt. I will be buying from this company for all my online gun needs. Their price could not be touched on the 9MM Shield, and every other gun Ive looked up also.
Now the M&P Shield 9MM by Smith & Wesson, This gun is awesome to shoot. Ive ran about 1000 rounds of any type of 9MM ammo I could get my hands on with not one issue to date. The trigger is just as been described, but easily improved with the Apex duty/carry Trigger kit.
As a EDC gun it is perfect, easily concealable IWB for comfortable all day carry, or as a backup on the ankle. The sights are decent, Though IMO S&W should make Trijicon Night Sights standard because of the typical use of the gun. Given my needs, I will be installing the XS Big Dot, but the stock sights work well enough OTB.
I definitely recommend the M&P Shield, Its a true shooter.
I highly recommend Kentucky Gun Co for your purchases.

" I did my research before purchasing this gun. Once I held it I was sold. I purchased it as my off duty carry. I put about 200 rounds through it and Im in love. Very comfortable, easy shooting gun. I could shoot this gun all day. If youre in the market for a small profile or concealable 9mm this is it. Now I need to buy a few more mags I see myself at the range a lot with this. "

" I am a retired police firearms instructor and very fond of anything Glock. Ive been waiting for years for a Glock single stack 9mm or .40cal. and faced the fact its not in the cards anytime soon. I researched the Beretta Nano and read about way too many issues with higher grain ammo. I purchased an M&P Shield 9mm from Kentucky and after 200 rounds and no issues, I decided this was a very good choice. I have large hands and using the seven round mag, I wrap my pinky around the bottom of the gun for the best holding position of any gun I own. Dont let a smaller, thinner pistol scare you away from the Shield. It fits my big mitts like a glove. The recoil, even with Hydra Shok and Hornady ammo, is so minimal its not a topic for discussion. Its not a Glock, although similar in many ways but Im really impressed with everything about this gun. For the money, I think this is the finest concealed carry single stack 9mm on the market. "

" Four of five stars is the best I can give MY shield at this time. Out of the box the trigger was horrible a quick google search pin pointed the problem. The bore the firing pin block slides up and down in had a burr. To properly fix this the rear sight must be removed, that pretty much sucks to have to do this to a brand new firearm. Of course sending it back to S & W was the other option. With that problem solved the trigger is still not where I want it to be. I only have 50 rounds through it so will see what the trigger is like after several hundred rounds fired and if need be will modify the trigger to suit my preference.
I do like the gun and would recommend it. I just happen to have gotten one with a not so great trigger assembly. Accuracy was good, the first 10-15 rounds consistently shot an inch plus high, maybe do to the hard trigger break or maybe just poor shooting on my part anyway it got better as I continued to shoot. Sight picture is very good. Conceal ability is very good even with the 8 round mag. Rapid fire was very impressive. Overall I am pleased with this purchase and expect after more rounds and some tweaking this will be my EDC. Recoil was pretty much about the same as my full size SR 9, very manageable.
This was my first purchase with Kentucky Gun Co and I give them a 5 of 5 stars! I found KY Guns in a magazine advertisement and glad I did!

" Cannot believe the quality of performance of this gun for the meager price. Shoots like a full size, no long forever creepy pull like most small pistols... Also no snappy lift on this real smooth shooter... Fits my hand like a glove, buy this gun and save the money you would spend on way more expensive carry pistols. "
A close to perfect as Ive seen

" I ordered the Shield 9 from KYGunCo the first week they came out. It arrived two days later and I immediately ran 200 rounds of range ammo through it. It fed all the reloaded range ammo, hollow points, and general junk I could find in the "scrap ammo" bucket at the range. I work at a gun range so I shoot lots of guns and I see what works and what doesnt.
The Shield didnt hiccup once and it was accurate, comfortable and a blast to shoot! At least a dozen customers have shot my Shield and all of them really liked the size, feel, excellent trigger and light recoil that this gun presents. I had two customers offer me 500 for my gun on the spot but I told them no. There are none in town right now. I carry it in a pocket holster sometimes 7 round mag installed and in a pancake holster most of the time.
My round count must be over 1000 by now and I have had zero malfunctions. This gun is a winner! "
