The PF-9 is a semi-automatic, locked breech pistol, chambered for the 9mm Luger cartridge. It has been developed from our highly successful P-11 and P-3AT pistols with maximum concealability in mind. The PF-9 has a single stack magazine holding 7 rounds. It is one of the lightest and flattest 9 mm ever made. Firing mechanism is Double-Action Only with an automatic hammer block safety. The PF-9 is available in blued, parkerized, and hard chrome finishes. Grips are in black, grey, and olive drab.
The PF-9 retains the best features from our P-11 and P-3AT pistols combined into the flattest and lightest single stack 9mm configuration ever made. The barrel, locking system, slide stop, assembly pin, front sight, recoil springs and guide rod are adapted from the P-11. The PF-9 is nearly identical to the P-11 in length and height and shares the same exterior controls. The shorter trigger system with integral hammer block and the extraction system are adapted from the P-3AT. Just like the P-11, the PF-9 will accept +P ammunition, however, not with continuous use.
The rear sight is a new design and is adjustable for windage with the supplied allen wrench as well as for elevation with the use of shims (not included). The included 7 round rectangular magazine is supplied with a finger extension base plate and numbered holes. The under barrel accessory rail shares the dimensions of the MIL-STD-1913 picatinny rail although there is only one locking notch in the forward position.

A very good CCW weapon
I recently applied for the concealed carry permit, & for this purpose, I wanted to get a gun that would be light and small, but still be rugged & have some stopping power. I did a bunch of research on several different carry guns and finally decided to go with the .9mm Kel-Tec PF9. It is one of the smallest and lightest .9mm carry guns on the market, and it has been around for a few years, now. Because of this, I believe that most of the teething pains have been worked out of the PF9, at least according to most of the reviews I read. Still, some people had issues with their guns even as late as mid 2011, so I went into this with some reservation. I knew that Kel-Tec is known for great customer service and all their guns have a lifetime warranty, and this being the case, and for the fact that the PF9 is at least 100 cheaper than anything comparable on the market, I decided to take a chance on it. I purchased the gun from an Internet vendor called the Kentucky Gun Co. They had the best price around, they had the color I wanted in stock and they offered free shipping. Because it took me a while to get a local FFL set up for the transfer, I delayed the delivery process, & had to make several calls to the K.G.Co and the folks there were always very friendly, understanding and professional. Once my FFL was ready to receive the gun, it was shipped promptly and in perfect, new in the box condition, as promiced. Yesterday I thoroughly cleaned and lubed the PF9 then took it to the range for the break-in. This gun only comes with one standard 7 rnd. magazine but I had already purchased an additional "High-capacity" 8 rnd. mag for it, and brought both mags to the range. I ran a hundred rounds of Winchester FMJ through the gun, two mags at a time, and between each set, I wiped the outside of the barrel and the inside of the chamber with a Rem. wipe. After that, I ran 2 mags of my planned carry ammo Hornady Critical Defense through the thing. For the second stage of the break-in process, I ran another 100 rnds of Win. FMJ through the gun with a wipe down on every other set of mags. and then finished up the process by running the remaining 10 rnds of the carry ammo through it. In total, I went through 225 rounds both slow and rapid fired, and I had zero failures of any kind. No failures to fire, feed, or extract. No un-commanded mag releases, and nothing broke. Accuracy was good right out of the box, but it did seem to be shooting about an inch high and about an inch left of where I was aiming at 7 yards. Aiming this gun was somewhat challenging due to the short sight radius, but I think that goes with the territory on these compact carry guns. Trigger pull was kind of long, but fairly light, & it was the most difficult trigger to gage the break point on that Ive ever come across. This should be a good thing, but it does take some getting used to. Additionally, the trigger reset is pretty long, but again, I think this comes with the territory and is pretty common among CC type handguns.

Kel-Tec Impresses Yet Again
This is the third Kel-Tec pistol I have owned, and each pistol is an amazing piece of engineering. Lightweight to the point of forgetting you are wearing a piece, very accurate for such compact weapons, and as a bonus a sharp looking weapon in the Cerakote Desert Sand finish! Best value out there for a carry piece.
