This is intended to be used mostly for sporting clays. I wanted a field style O/U (i.e. w/out the vent between barrels), a full forend (in contrast to the Schnabel forend) and a 30" barrel. I would not have opted for the III which is an upgrade to a 2.5 grade wood stock, but this was the only model between Beretta and Browning that satisfied my criteria. One of the closures on the plastic case that it came in has already broke. However, this forced me to purchase the aftermarket Beretta canvas covered case with leather trim, and now it is quite the package. I am happy with this purchase and I feel that anyone else would be too; it is a nice shotgun. I do think that Beretta ought make the same offering in a grade I model. I shopped around for some time and KYGUNCO was competitively priced. Ordering was easy and shipping was fast, they have earned my future business. Thank you! 2 weeks ago ** ** ** ** ** ** Daniel Annapolis, MD I could not be happier with this gun! It fits really well, and swings and shoots great! I was very happy with the price as well. I was on the fence between this and a 686 and I’m glad I went with the 687. The engravings on this are very nice. I really like the game scenes they went with. Again, I couldn’t be happier with this gun and the price.
