While many standard 38 Special loads fall short on velocity and expansion, this +P variant delivers enhanced stopping power and consistent performance—even from short-barrel revolvers. From the moment it leaves the barrel, the 38 Special +P 125gr JHP is moving with purpose. With a muzzle velocity of 950 fps and 251 ft-lbs of energy, this defensive round delivers a decisive punch. Thanks to its higher pressure load, it penetrates deeper and expands faster than conventional rounds, making it ideal for concealed carry and home defense scenarios. Furthermore, this jacketed hollow point round features a soft lead core enclosed in a gilding metal jacket. Its internal and external scoring is designed to initiate rapid expansion on impact—even when passing through clothing or light barriers. As a result, the bullet mushrooms to nearly double its original diameter, creating a larger wound channel and reducing the risk of over-penetration. Additionally, independent testing has shown that the 38 Special +P 125gr JHP achieves over a 90% one-shot stop rate\*. This kind of performance is no accident—it’s the result of decades of research and field-proven design. If you carry a snub-nose revolver or compact backup gun, you need ammunition that works every time. This round does just that. ** WARNING: This product contains chemicals known to the State of California to cause cancer, birth defects, or other reproductive harm.
