Loaded with Hornady's **190 grain Sub-X® (Subsonic eXpanding) bullet**, this load combines subsonic performance with a projectile specifically designed to provide reliable expansion at low velocities. The Sub-X® bullet features a **lead core surrounded by a gilding metal jacket** with long grooves that help facilitate expansion. A patented **Flex Tip® insert** sits within the hollow-point cavity to help initiate expansion at subsonic velocities, while the bullet's flat profile contributes to its low-velocity performance. A cannelure provides a positive case crimp for reliable use in semiautomatic firearms. Hornady developed its Subsonic ammunition for shooters looking for dependable performance below the speed of sound. The 300 Blackout 190 gr Sub-X® load is built around the characteristics of the cartridge while pairing it with a purpose-designed expanding projectile rather than a conventional non-expanding subsonic bullet. ### Key Features - **190 gr Sub-X® Bullet:** Purpose-designed Subsonic eXpanding projectile - **Subsonic Performance:** Engineered for accuracy and performance below the speed of sound - **Flex Tip® Technology:** Patented insert within the hollow-point cavity helps initiate expansion at low velocities - **Gilding Metal Jacket:** Long grooves in the jacket assist reliable low-velocity expansion - **Lead Core:** Core construction designed as part of the Sub-X® expanding bullet system - **Cannelure:** Provides a positive case crimp for reliable feeding and function in semiautomatic firearms - **300 Blackout:** Designed around the cartridge's subsonic capabilities ### Specifications - **Manufacturer:** Hornady - **Product Line:** Subsonic - **Caliber:** 300 Blackout - **Bullet:** Sub-X® - **Bullet Weight:** 190 gr - **Bullet Type:** Subsonic eXpanding - **Bullet Construction:** Lead Core with Gilding Metal Jacket - **Tip:** Flex Tip® - **Velocity Class:** Subsonic ** WARNING: This product contains chemicals known to the State of California to cause cancer, birth defects, or other reproductive harm.
