Shot so well I bought a 300 Mag for myself last week. Ordered this because of the price. Put the brake on the 7mm-08 for three rounds, and seemed to have very little recoil. Threw it on the 300 (where its intended to go) and shot a couple offhand just to see. The 300 Win Mag recoiled about like the 7mm-08 does with no brake. Thats what I was after. As for the noise, I'm sure it makes it quite a bit louder, but I had muffs on at the time, and it wasn't a big deal. The recoil reduction on the 300 was indeed noticeable though. As far as if it affects accuracy, I have no idea. May add to this later if I'm able to, but doesn't look like the review format will allow it, as I have no opportunity to alter any previous reviews. If you bought a Compass in one of the mag calibers (or even a long action) and want to reduce recoil, this will in fact do it. For the short actions, its going to drop it down, but it will also make the gun look more finished instead of the crummy looking thread protector. It was worth my 75 bucks. 10/10/2019 ** ** ** ** ** ** KyGunCo Verified Customer Oviedo, FL awesome addition to the 30-06 Thompson compass 30-06.a wise purchase on my part.
