I do recommend oiling up the bolt, makes it smoother to operate. Magazine insertion was a little tight, but after a few dozen insertions, the plastic magwell opens up a little making it easier to insert and remove. Magazine is still sturdy. This is for my 5 year old, length of pull is still a little long for him and trigger requires two hands for him but he enjoys his rifle and there is little too no recoil from this 22lr.
