SMITH & WESSON Performance Center Model 929 9mm 6.5" 8rd Revolver - Stainless

The revolver version of a $1,000 9mm 1911. Exceptionally accurate, little recoil/muzzle flip. Capable of 3 groups at 75 feet, and Im no kind of marksman. Excellent for introducing new shooters to a mid-level pistol cartridge.

The trigger is glass smooth, best Ive every used.

Ive had no problems with ignition on a wide variety of cheap and expensive 9mm ammo.

Buy a moonclip tool, it will be worth it based on all the shooting you will do with this fine revolver.

This gun is better than i expected it would be. So far Ive only put about 500rd through it without a single failure to fire. Ive only been shooting freedom munitions through it so far accuracy with them has been really good Im really glad i broke down and bought this gun.

Talked with S&W regarding misfires, they suggested using only domestic ammo gutsy, when at the time you were just happy to find ANY ammo so I finally found some Remington & Federal. Misfires went down frome 20 out of 100 to 17 out of 100....better, but not good. Finally broke down and returned the gun to S&W. Missfires are down to about 3 now, thank God it is not a carry gun....still not as accurate as I expected and still disappointing. S&W did turn the gun around quickly, but sent no information on what they did.

Disappointed with several things, not nearly as accurate as I expected, looks like S&W used .357 barrels instead of 9mm .355 so my best accuracy is with .358-.360 bullets and there is plenty of room for those bullets to fit, so chamber throats are generous. Lots of misfires until I tightened the strain screw, which was VERY loose, cylinder does not lock up very tightly at all and has quite a bit of end shake. I expected much more for the money.
