Weatherby has a storied history of creating best-in-class hunting rifles, and this new rifle is built with carbon fiber components to create a lightweight and ultra strong hunting rifle. The Model 307 Alpine CT is built on a 2-lug cully cylindrical action which is compatible with many aftermarket Remington 700 accessories, which makes it the most open platform Weatherby has ever created. Inside the action is a three-piece bolt which is designed to allow for tool-less disassembly, making it simple to field strip your bolt if necessary. The bolt also features an M16 style extractor so you can expect very reliable extraction and ejection. Next, Weatherby adds in a BSF Carbon Fiber barrel. This barrel starts as a turned down 416R stainless steel match barrel which is then sleeved in carbon fiber. The proprietary barrel design means that 95% of the carbon fiber doesn't contact the specially contoured barrel, creating air gaps and allowing for faster barrel cooling. All of these components are set into a Peak 44 carbon fiber stock which weighs just 24 ounces. This stock includes a vertical grip for a comfortable shooting experience, and with 3 sling swivel studs, you can attach a rifle sling as well as a sling stud mounted bipod! Additional features including a premium trigger, Picatinny optics rail and Accubrake muzzle brake make the Weatherby 307 Alpine CT an innovative and full featured rifle for the modern hunter.
