This added versatility allows the shooter to conceal carry with the smallest profile possible but reload with a high capacity magazine offering greater firepower. When you grab for a reload the advantages of extra rounds in a functionally comfortable format can make the difference The patented one piece XGRIP adapts the full-size 7 or 8 round metal floorplate magazine for use in the compact, incorporating the larger magazine into the compact's grip, and increasing the gun's capacity to 7or 8 rounds. Law enforcement and military personnel can carry the compact with a standard magazine when concealment is important, then insert the 7 or 8-round magazine with XGRIP when firepower and capacity become critical. The XGRIP has been designed to flow seamlessly into the design of the 1911 handgun itself, reinforcing the aesthetics of the classic 1911 look.
