Beretta's pays homage to the heritage of military camouflage with the 92XI SAO Combat Series. This series of handguns was developed between Beretta and Richard Howe, a 2-tour Army combat veteran devoted to helping disabled combat veterans and their families. Each pistol in the 92XI SAO Combat Series features a unique Cerekote camouflage pattern hand painted a disabled veteran artist. These camo patterns include Vietnam Tiger Stripe, the "Chocolate Chip" 6-color desert camo pattern, the Battle Dress Uniform pattern, the Desert Combat Uniform, and the Multicam pattern.
Just like the other firearms in the 92XI SAO family, the 92XI SAO Combat Series offers a familiar manual of arms, superb ergonomics, and great shooting comfort, as well as a wide array of performance enhancing upgrades. One of the most prominent improvements is a Single-Action-Only Xtreme-S Trigger. This trigger is flat-faced, and all of the parts are coated with a DLC finish, resulting in an improved purchase on the trigger, a shorter pull, and a quick reset – all of which greatly enhances accuracy and performance. Another notable upgrade of the 92Xi is a frame-mounted safety similar to the one found on the 92X Performance. The frame safety is ambidextrous, and allows the 92Xi to be carried “Cocked and Locked”. Other features of the 92Xi includes a optics-ready slide for use with a micro red dot, and uses the standard mounting plates as the 92X Performance.
