The typical current commercially manufactured .30 M1 Carbine ammo runs at or below 1,900 fps with 110gr. bullets when fired from standard US military .30 M1 Carbines with 18-inch barrels.
- Original 1941 military spec: 110gr. bullet @ 1970 fps.
- It is possible to exceed 2,100 fps with 110gr. bullets while remaining within SAAMI max average pressure limits of 40,000 CUP.
This ammo is not intended to be cheap blaster or plinking ammo—though it can be used that way.
- Designed for self-defense.
- Capable of harvesting game up to 200 lbs.
Performance notes:
- Three Buffalo Bore .30 M1 Carbine loads approach 2,100 fps in various carbines.
- Item #46D, which uses a heavier bullet, does not reach that velocity.
