By popular demand, Buffalo Bore is now offering two heavy .45 Auto Rim standard pressure loads. Both loads use premium Starline brass and incorporate flash-suppressed powder to minimize muzzle flash in low-light conditions—critical since over 95% of civilian shootings in the U.S. occur in low light when threats are most active.
These loads match the ballistic performance of +P .45 ACP ammunition but operate at standard .45 ACP pressures. They are safe for use in any .45 ACP revolver in normal operating condition, including all Model 1917 Colt and S&W revolvers.
Below are real-world velocity results from personal revolvers—not laboratory test barrels. Notably, the newer S&W 4-inch Mountain Gun delivers velocities nearly equal to older models with longer barrels, highlighting the tighter tolerances of modern S&W revolvers.
