After years of customer requests, Buffalo Bore is proud to introduce two powerful +P .45 Auto Rim loads. Both loads utilize premium Starline brass and incorporate flash-suppressed powder to preserve shooter vision in low-light conditions—an essential feature, as over 95% of civilian shootings in the U.S. occur in the dark when threats are most active.
These loads match the ballistic performance of +P+ .45 ACP (also known as .45 Super) and are safe for use in all modern and post-war .45 ACP revolvers in good operating condition.
Velocity tests were conducted using personal revolvers—not laboratory barrels. Notably, the newer S&W 4-inch Mountain Gun produced velocities nearly equal to older models with longer barrels, demonstrating the tighter tolerances of modern S&W revolvers. We acknowledge that the 1937 Model 1917 used in testing is not post-war.
