CENTERPOINT Hellion 400 Crossbow Hunt Ready Kit

I purchased the Centerpoint Hellion 400 Crossbow Hunt Ready Kit 12-26-24 from KYGUNCO.com, as usual they were great in their sales price, shipping, etc. I am not experienced with Crossbows. I have never shot one until now. The weather broke and I had my first opportunity on 2-26-25. I read the booklet. Followed EVERY RULE of instruction. Lubed the rail and tImidly fired my first shot at 20 yards. I enjoyed firing 12 more shots at my Morrell Yellow Jacket archery target. AND THE STRING BROKE!!! Glad I was wearing safety glasses. The broken string just lashed my left cheek under the eye. Crosspoints warranty clearly states the string is NOT covered. After this experience I'm very disappointed. And I cannot justify ever buying another Crossbow. I have not looked into the cost of replacement yet, I do not recommend CROSSPOINT BRANDS. BUYER BEWARE. AVOID THIS BRAND, KIT, ETC. Even at the great sales price I would not buy this Kit again.

Ky gun members are great. I will not purchase another center point because the customer service sucks. I have tried email and calling for 2 weeks now and still no response. I would not recommend center point to anyone.

Purchased this item, assembled it, and began to zero the scope on it. After firing only 12 bolts, the string broke in the middle right were the serving is. I contacted KY Gun and was told I had to contact Centerpoint if I wanted warranty consideration. I contacted Centerpoint and was told to go online and fill out paperwork and they would review it for consideration. Crossbow is now at my local bow shop having a new string put on so, after day 1 of owning it, I am out $60.00. Not pleased with the customer service I received from KY Gun or Centerpoint. The retailer could have reached out to the manufacturer on my behalf. It felt as though they had gotten my money and no longer cared.

A+ buying experience. Fast shipping and the product was as advertised. Overall a great bow package. I was skeptical after reading little to no positive reviews on this product. The instructions are a little unclear on how to install the cable guide correctly but Centerpoint has some youtube videos covering assembly of another model bow with the same cable guide that clear up any misunderstanding. Once assembled I was able to shoot the bow 25 times consecutively without any issues. At 40 shots it's still performing well. I used my chronograph to test its performance, it shot 406.33 fps on average in a 6 shot test. The 6 bolts and soft sided storage case are very nice and good quality. The stirrup moves a little easier than I would like. The detents could have a more positive engagement even after I adjusted them per the instructions. The scope leaves a little to be desired as well. The point of impact and the drops in the reticle don't exactly line up. Overall a great package!

Bought this for a birthday present for my son (already had Christmas gifts) he will open in February. I will update the review then.
