Complete upper assemblies include: Bolt Carrier Group, Bolt Carrier, Magazine Housing, Gas Tube, Flash Hider, Bolt Guide, Ejection Port Cover. The Flash Hider portion of the flash hider is recessed into the upper's hand guard, creating a "skirt" that is ideally sized for a 16" barrel, preventing the sight picture "skirt" from being damaged by the sight over the front sight post. The "skirt" portion of the upper also has an integral dust cover to keep the like new look and function of the upper.
