Never had a pump .22 LR and this Rossi looked like a nice one with a good price. Gun is a lot of fun to shoot because of the great sight setup; fiber optic green rear and hooded red front. And you do not need to carry a small screwdriver or whatever to do it; just turn easy to do knobs with your fingers. This thing is also quite accurate with great sights and a really good trigger; that was a real surprise. When friends come over to shoot (have my own range) they end up sending a bunch of bullets down the bore. One friend has decided to get one for himself. One word of caution; when you put the magazine tube back in, if it stops or seems like it does a little nudging, do not do that. With the vagarities of rim fire ammo it is not consistently made. If the cartridge is a little too big at the base it will jam in the magazine, cause a misfeed/jam of the next cartridge in the receiver, which is a major pain; I found out this the hard way--but since I do firearm repairs I easily accomplished resolving the issue. Federal, CCI and Aquila have worked perfect, Winchester and Remington had issues. I also think that this issue will resolve itself with more use of the gun as it wears in a little. Overall I am really glad to have found one of these and highly recommend it.
