The Savage B.Mag features a completely new compact rimfire action with rear locking lugs as well as a cock-on-close bolt, while keeping the same thread-in barrel headspacing system as the rest of their centerfire rifles. A neat attribute of this firearm is the center-feed rotary magazine it utilizes, capable of holding up to eight rounds. Additionally, The B.Mag sports Savage's praised Accutrigger, which is infamous for being light, crisp and easily adjusted without the use of any special tools. So if you are in the market for a lightening fast tack-driver that one can shoot all day on the cheap, look no further than the Savage B.Mag 17 WSM.

The stock issue is just a poor stock that doesnt hold its shape. Thats why I gave it a 4. Ill change it out for a wood stock. But we shouldnt be forced by Savage to do that. Other than that it shoots like every other Savage Ive ever had. I get MOA groups at every distance I shoot. As far as the ammo issue. I got my first 5 boxes from Kentucky Gun Co. and then I went to Cabelas and the last 4 times Ive been there theyve had at least 60 boxes in stock in both 20 and 25 grain.

I bought the Savage Bmag probably a year ago. Before that, I was able to buy 3 boxes of .17WSM for it in anticipation of buying the rifle. I shot one box through it and will shoot no more until ammo becomes available for it, IF EVER! Since I bought the 3 boxes, Ive seen no more, ANYWHERE on the EARTH!!! I have a great rifle that now sits in the rack gathering dust. Unless or until ammo becomes available for it, dont waste your money. Instead, buy a rifle you can FIND AMMO for.

update on bmag warped stock. I received what i was first told would be a new bmag from savage. I got the gun back from savage on dec. 18 and upon opening the box found the same gun back . different stock, but warped exactly as the original. I cant believe they repaired it and then put a warped stock back on it. I didnt shoot the gun originally, but decided i would give it a try. I boresighted and shot a half box of 25 gr. @ 50 yds. wind s 5 mph. I could not get better than 4 group with a new vortex diamondback scope and later tried the 20 gr. with a new burris scope. I sent back to factory and once again i have been promised a new rifle. Ill let you know how savage handles this.

The rifle is a tack driver. First 3-shot group out of the gun while sighting in the gun/scope could be covered easily by a dime. My difficulty is with the workmanship of the gun, specifically the fit of the gun to stock. The barrel does not sit centered in the grove of the foregrip, it is off to the left considerably. I contacted Savage and they arranged for a UPS pickup of the gun. Ill be a happy customer when the gun is returned and the barrel sits properly in the stock. If this is the best their quality control can do someone was asleep at the controls. Once that is done I will change my review to 5s in all categories.
