SMITH & WESSON Bodyguard 380ACP 2.8" 6rd w/ Crimson Trace - Black

Put 200 rounds through the M&P Bodyguard, had the pistol 2 weeks and the integrated Crimson Laser stopped working. Even put in new batteries. Waiting to hear from S&W. Not happy!

I bought a Smith & Wesson M&P Bodyguard 380 Crimson Trace a couple of months ago for a pocket pistol. Straight out of the box I put all of the first 6 rounds I fired thru it into a 12oz soft drink can at 10 yards using the iron sights. The out of box accuracy was excellent with both iron and laser sights, and after firing a full 50 round box of 95 grain Winchester SXZ JHPs the pistol performed flawlessly without a single hiccup. I havent had the gun long enough to comment on the durability of the laser, but so far Ive had no issues at all with it. With the accuracy of the pistol using the iron sights and the role/purpose I bought it to fulfill, Im really not too concerned about the durability of the laser anyway. In fact, Im thinking about trading it for a non laser version of the M&P Bodyguard 380 to get rid of the small amount of added bulk in my pocket that the Crimson Trace Model has over the non laser version of the same pistol. Seriously speaking, its only a .380. At the near point blank ranges that this pistol may be useful and effective in a self defense situation, A what do you need a laser for, and B what is the likelihood that the situation will even allow the time to activate it Otherwise, reliability, fit and finish and out of the box accuracy of the pistol makes this gun an excellent choice for a pocket pistol.

Laser sight was difficult to get accurate, laser stopped working after a few months, plastic tab covering laser electronics interferred with the slide action and is now missing leaving the electronics exposed, and there is the trigger pull. Wow the trigger pull is very heavy, probably 2-3x that of others in its category. Easy to carry, conceals good, but reliability is a downer.
