Zoomer™
The Zoomer is a remarkably innovative fixed-blade knife created specifically for bushcraft and wilderness survival. Designed by Tom Zoomer, an outdoor enthusiast and survival skills instructor from the Netherlands, it features a broad, drop-point blade expertly crafted from Crucible® CPM® 20CV particle metallurgy stainless steel. This advanced alloy contains a high volume of vanadium carbides and the highest amount of chromium of any vanadium-rich steel currently available. This potent recipe of elements ensures high wear resistance, superior corrosion resistance, and impressive impact toughness—properties that are further enhanced by a classic hamaguri (convex) grind that ensures a breathtakingly sharp yet resilient cutting edge.
For maximum strength and comfort, the Zoomer’s stout concealed tang extends completely through the knife’s handle, which consists of two mirror-image pieces of solid G-10 painstakingly machined to yield a beautifully contoured, hand-filling grip devoid of “hot spots.” A recess at the butt end of the handle allows access to the tang’s lanyard hole and leaves the tang end exposed as a potential hammer surface. Most notably, an extended shelf at the handle’s forward end provides a rest for the user’s thumb, enhancing comfort, control, and leverage during detailed cutting chores.
The Zoomer’s sheath is crafted from thick, premium-quality leather. It features a wide, “floating” belt loop and deep, pouch-style construction that holds the knife securely with the edge facing in either direction. A large covered pouch also offers handy on-board storage for small tools and other survival gear. To protect your Zoomer knife and sheath when not in use, and as an extra added touch of class, it comes complete with a handsome zippered storage pouch.
