Made in Turkey. Immediately had to go buy picatinny rail, rings and scope since I could only see both sites by holding the rifle entirely in front of my face with butt of stock about on my mouth. Never read in ads it might be a kid's gun, but that's my guess. It is accurate once you lay out another 200 or so for the rail, rings, scope. Suggest anyone buying one find one for sale and see if you can see sights first. I grew up with winchester model 74, sad how quality has disappeared. (the model 74 still works)
