In addition, the blocks are precision ground square, and to ensure ideal mating of mould blocks, even following years of heavy use, steel alignment pins are used. This mould, as well as other moulds from this company, boasts a 3/16-inch sprue plate, tightened with spring washers and screws made from tempered steel.
