This is a great current production mid-size revolver that reaches that sweet spot of a near 3" barrel. I've seen some new Model 66s that have stiff double actions but thankfully this one is pretty good straight out of the box. It is a heavier trigger pull than a vintage one but it is smoothing up nicely and it's very usable. The gun handles well with .357 Magnum but is a pleasant shooter with .38 Special and the frame improvements mean that this should be able to handle a good diet of .357. For someone who intends to carry a mid-size .38/.357, this one strikes an excellent balance - Highly recommended.
