Whenever you purchase a firearm sight unseen over the internet you're always taking a risk that the fit and finish is to your satisfaction. I'm happy to report that the wood and case hardening is absolutely beautiful on the one that I received.

The action was a little stiff when I first got it, but I stripped it down, cleaned and lubed it, and after about 50 rounds of .357 Magnum it smoothed out nicely.

If I did purchased another 1873 rifle, again, I'd highly consider getting one of Uberti's cheaper models with an octagon barrel, then either installing some parts from Pioneer Gun Works in Oregon or just sending it to them outright.

Either way, Uberti's quality is top notch. You can't go wrong with them. This rifle is one of my favorites in my collection now.

Good gun for the price. Seams to only have a short stroke installed by Uberti. A action job and spring change-outs are necessary to get top performance. The potential is there , if you invest more time and money into it.
