The 1885 High Wall Rifle was designed by legendary firearms producer John Moses Browning and the Winchester Repeating Rifle Company. The rifle was originally designed for long-range competitive match shooting, which was rapidly growing in popularity in the United States. The 1885 High Wall Rifle was entered into one of these shooting matches in Creedmoor New York, where it performed exceptionally well. Its success was largely due to its falling block action which was one of the strongest and most reliable actions available at the time, so much so that it was actually used to test fire experimental high-powered rifle cartridges.
Uberti’s 1885 High Wall Rifle is an authentic reproduction of the original down to the last detail. It features a case hardened frame, and the same falling block action that made the original so popular and features a compartment in the stock with a break-down cleaning rod.
